Pesto is a very versatile sauce. This easy kale based pesto is no different. You can use it for pasta salad, Creamy Pesto pasta, pesto pizza sauce, and the list goes on and on. This kale pesto sauce is also super simple can be made quickly for easy weeknight dinner. Along with being simple to make, it only requires a few simple ingredients.

Ingridients

To make this easy kale pesto you only need a few ingredients.

  • Kale
  • minced garlic
  • Lemon juice
  • Pine Nuts
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Things You’ll Need

Before making the pesto you’ll need to grab a few items.

  • Food Processor/ Blender
  • Measuring cup
  • Jar or bowl for storing
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Measuring Glass

How to Make Easy Kale Pesto

Begin by thoroughly rinsing the kale leaves. Make sure to get between the curves as things can sometime hide there. Remove the stems from the leaves and tear or cut leaves into smaller portions. Add kale and all other ingredients, leaving out the oil, to the food processer. Once the mixture is finely minced begin drizzling olive oil with processor running until the pesto has reached your desired consistency. Kale based pesto sauce


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Bunch of Kale
  • 1/3 Cup Pine Nuts
  • Juice of half of a lemon
  • 1/2 cup  Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 Cup Olive oil (See note)
  • 1/4 Lightly dried basil 
  • 2 Tablespoons dried garlic (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients except olive oil to a food processor
  2. Begin blending 
  3. after blending for a couple minutes continue to blend while simultaneously drizzling in olive oil
  4. Once olive oil is gone if you like the consistency then stop blending.
  5. If you are not satisfied keep blending and drizzle in more olive oil until you reach your desired consistency
  6. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for use later

Notes

  • Start with the 1/4 cup of oil and add more as needed to reach you desired consistency.
